ORGANIZATIONAL HISTORY
The International Music Federation O.N.L.U.S. has been carrying out its didactic and artistic activity since 2000. The F.M.I. onlus, with current administrative and operative seat in Milan, was born with the intent to promote the diffusion of high level classical music in the world in its teachings as well as to specialize the students and start them to the profession, followed by a direct experimentation, combined with the contact with the operators of the sector. The Director is Sem Cerritelli, a multi-qualified musician (piano, conducting, vocal chamber music) and a graduate of the Management Department of the Fondazione Accademia d'Arti e Mestieri Teatro alla Scala in Milan, who since 2000 has been organizing Opera Competitions, Instrumental Competitions, Competitions for piano accompanists, and Opera Masterclasses on a national and international level. Opera MASTERCLASSES and MASTERCLASSES FOR SOLISTS are organized on a monthly basis, also during the summer period. At the beginning, the Federation was mainly involved in the organization of the Opera Competition which in 2002 was named after the City of Brescia. Already in 2002, the Federation, given the request of musical organizers, also dealt with the selection of artists suitable for the realization of its projects. As the years went by, besides the opera competitions, the organized competitions included several musical disciplines: for example the piano competition "Pia Tebaldini", the Liederistic competition "Giuseppina Cobelli" and the competition for collaborating masters "Ottorino Respighi". Since 2002 the Federation has coordinated 30 concerts each year and has availed itself of the collaboration of the winning artists of the competitions it organizes. Collaboration that in many cases has lasted a decade. It has organized over 80 editions of opera competitions including: Capriolo in Franciacorta Opera Competition, Opera Competition Homage to F. Paolo Tosti, City of Brescia Opera Competition, City of Iseo Opera Competition. The Federation's teaching section has also been active since 2006: the San Carlino International Music Academy has had internationally renowned teachers for lessons in opera singing, piano, conducting and choir, vocal coaching for singer and pianists.
